Flare Stack Monitoring System

Flare stacks are used in the chemical and petrochemical industries to safely dispose of excess gases through combustion. These may be unwanted waste gases, or flammable gases released to prevent unplanned over-pressurizing of plant equipment. Simply venting these untreated hydrocarbons into the air creates an environmental hazard.  Environmental regulations require close monitoring of the flare stack to prevent pollutants, particularly unburned hydrocarbons, from entering the atmosphere.

This is to remove the VOCs by optimizing the flare stack gas by monitoring the calorific value, component, flow rate of the flare gas and the flow rate of air and steam.
For Deungju flare monitoring system, Calorie analyzer was applied in accordance with Annex 10-2 of the Korean Air Pollution Control Act and US EPA 40 CFR Part 63.670 / 671
